Asantii’s second collection is named Fahari which means ‘pride’ in Swahili. With this collection we are proud to build upon Africa’s wealth of cultural heritage and support creativity.
The second collection is a continuation of our first collection Zaliwa, and a move on into more feminine fluid silhouettes with less structured fabrics and offering timeless easy shapes. This collection allows the Asantii woman to wear her clothing from day into evening with soft styles in sustainable viscose- crepe, satin and jacquard as well as linens.
The colour palette is dominated by monochrome Black and White contrasted by Apricot Orange and the vibrant colours of the Abstract Sunset print. The print infuses the collection with the energy of the magical twilight scenes of African skies. The burnt orange hue is inspired by an East African dusk, its warm tone complimenting a rich indigo reminiscent of traditional West African textiles such as the Yoruba resist-dyed Adire.
African artisanship is celebrated with hand embroidered linen dresses and a new custom handwoven striped Faso Dan Fani pique fabric is used for tailoring.
The Fahari collection offers wardrobe stables that inspire elegant simplicity and ease.
